PURPOSE OF ST. JOSEPH TABERNACLE SOCIETY

The purpose of St. Joseph’s Tabernacle Society shall be to give glory to Almighty God through prayer, study and service for our parish community and the community in which we live.

Our objective is to serve the needs of the women of our parish and to unite all women of St. Joseph’s Parish in spiritual, educational and social activities. We also financially support the needs of the altar, sanctuary, and the parish in general. Empower and educate Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service.

Meetings:

Tabernacle meets the 3rd Monday evening of the month in the basement of St. Joseph church at 6:30 P.M. There are no meetings in June, July, August and December.

Officers:

Officers serve a two-year term and are elected by members in November of the second year. Officers elected are President or Co-Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer.
Officers for the years 2024 and 2025 are:

Co-Presidents: Linda Ellison (402-414-1593) and Joan Milligan (440-527-1917)
Secretary: Joyce Reich (402-616-0334)
Treasurer: Vanessa Bingham (402-720-6846)

Activities:

Members can participate in as many activities as they can find time to attend. Some of the activities are as follows:

  • The main purpose of any altar society is to assist the Pastor in the care and needs of the altar; his includes tending to the altar linens, candles, decoration, church cleaning, etc.
  • Members serve and/or donate food for funeral lunches.
  • Members coordinate Donuts, coffee, and juice for all parishioners following the 10:30 Sunday mass the first Sunday of the month.
  • Organize fund raisers for Tabernacle
  • Members collect and distribute baskets to our homebound parishioners at Easter and Christmas; as well as visiting the homebound or helping as needed throughout the year. Organize other Corporal Works of Mercy in our community.
  • Coordinate social and/or educational groups for women in the parish.
  • Organize and participate in furnishing meals to parishioners that are in need.
  • Assist other organizations (Knights of Columbus, Chairman of Fall Festival, CCD Program, etc.) as requested.

Membership:

Open to all women of the parish, age 18 and older, who subscribe to the purpose and objectives of St. Joseph Tabernacle Society and who pay annual dues ($25.00 per year).
